About Out of The Ashes Large Animal Rescue
Out of The Ashes Large Animal Rescue is a charity organization that specializes in the care of neglected, abused, and mistreated large animals. We take in a variety of animals including horses, cows, water buffaloes, llamas, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and more. Our mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for these animals, giving them the love and attention they deserve.
Our Story
We became a registered non-profit in 2021, and shortly after a registered charity in 2022. However, our story begins 10 years prior with a single horse named Cyrus.
Cyrus was found tied to a plough, in the middle of a field. Left without food, water, shade or shelter for three days in a heat wave. The OSPCA (who at the time was responsible for upholding animal cruelty laws), asked if Angie would be willing to help transport and foster him. She agreed, and Cyrus was brought into her care.
Our vets explained it was unlikely that he would even make the night. But there was a fire inside his eyes, he wasn't ready to leave this world just yet. Our vets gave him everything they could, and said the rest was up to him.
Cyrus survived one night, and then the next, and the next. The rest, is history.
Cyrus is still with us today, and he is still the 'top dog' of our horse herd.
Watching the life come back into his eyes sparked a passion in Angie, and she continued to rescue neglected and abused large animals.

What We Do
At Out of The Ashes Large Animal Rescue, we are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating large animals in need. We provide medical care, nourishment, and a safe haven for animals who have suffered from neglect and abuse. We provide all of the animals in our care with a life long home. Meaning, we don't do any adoptions.

Our Mission

We frequently serve as a 'last chance' for those in our care, and we are committed to ensuring they flourish, regardless of any medical, behavioral, or physical challenges they may face.
